Best of Both Worlds

Benefits of a Co-ed Campus

At Loughborough Grammar School, our pupils truly enjoy the best of both worlds. As a boys’ school within a wider coeducational campus, we combine the proven benefits of single-sex education with rich and varied opportunities for collaboration across our family of schools.

Our all-boys setting allows us to specialise in every aspect of education tailored to boys. From the classroom to the playing field, we understand how boys learn, grow, and engage best. This specialist focus helps our pupils thrive – developing confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Boys here are unselfconscious and full of curiosity. They throw themselves into all areas of school life, from fencing and bee-keeping to philosophy, music, drama, and even wool club. With over 140 clubs and activities on offer, there is something for every interest and personality.

But this isn’t a school in isolation. Our campus is alive with coeducational collaboration – particularly with our sister school, Loughborough High School; highlights include Music, Drama, Sport, the Combined Cadet Force, A Level subjects, Sixth Form enrichment and a vibrant social calendar. These shared experiences promote mutual respect, broaden perspectives, and help build lasting friendships.

Building on these great examples, we are actively developing more structured and meaningful opportunities for deeper collaboration across the age range – in the academic, pastoral and co-curricular spheres – ensuring that our pupils are fully prepared for life beyond school in an increasingly connected world.

The School fully meets its aim to produce team players who embrace challenge and change.
