Loughborough Grammar School is proud to support military families through our strong boarding provision, central location, based in Loughborough, Leicestershire and deep respect for the Armed Forces community. We understand the unique demands of military life and are committed to providing a stable, high-quality education for the children of serving personnel. 

As a school that has pledged our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant since 2017, we recognise the sacrifices made by military families and actively seek to support them. In 2022, Loughborough Grammar School was awarded the Silver Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the Armed Forces community. 

We offer a range of flexible boarding options to meet the needs of military families, including:

Whether you’re facing regular deployments, long commutes or short-term changes, our boarding solutions can provide the stability and continuity your child needs.

Our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) is a key part of school life and a source of great pride. With Army, Royal Navy and RAF sections, our CCF offers exciting leadership opportunities, adventure training, and national recognition. In 2025, our RAF cadets won the prestigious Royal Air Squadron Trophy for the second year in succession, marking us as the best RAF cadet force in the country. 

Located in Leicestershire, the East Midlands, Loughborough Grammar School is easily accessible from many major Ministry of Defence establishments. With strong road, rail, and airport links, we are well positioned to serve families from across the UK and overseas. 

We are happy to support families with Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) applications. Our team will work closely with you to ensure a smooth and supportive process.
