Combined Cadet Force

Combined Cadet Force

Our aim is to develop personal responsibility, leadership and self-discipline. Combined Cadet Force can be a life-changing experience for our boys. It gives students the opportunity to take part in a huge range of exciting and adventurous military-themed activities. Whether that is flying a plane, completing an army obstacle course, or learning to sail, there is something for everyone. The Combined Cadet Force is an educational partnership between the School and the Ministry of Defence, and we operate Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force sections. Alongside the three military sections, we also offer Corps of Drums as a Thursday enrichment option or as a lunchtime club.

Whichever section a student joins, they will quickly build important qualities such as teamwork, confidence and self-discipline, as well as later having the opportunity to take on leadership roles. Combined Cadet Force is run with Loughborough High School and offers a chance for pupils to work together and take on new challenges.

Each of our four sections naturally has its flavour:

As part of the options process, students are asked to bid for their preferred section – while we do our best to accommodate first choice, availability of staff and resources may mean that students have to join their second-choice section. Please be aware that the number of places in the Royal Naval Section in particular is strictly limited.
