Years of academic excellence

Thank you for taking the time to speak with us at the Notts County Fair.

It was a pleasure to meet you. We hope our conversation gave you a glimpse into life at Loughborough Grammar School and what makes our school such a special place.

Founded in 1495, we are proud of our heritage, but our focus is firmly on preparing boys for the future helping them grow into confident, capable and compassionate young men. Steeped in history and shaped by a modern outlook, Loughborough Grammar School offers the best of both worlds: the academic advantages of an all-boys education within a wider co-educational campus environment.

Boys thrive here because they are challenged, supported and encouraged to make the most of every opportunity available to them. Strong academic achievement sits at the heart of school life, alongside expert subject teaching, a broad and knowledge-rich curriculum, and growing opportunities in digital learning, STEM and innovation.

Beyond the classroom, students enjoy more than 140 co-curricular opportunities across sport, music, drama, CCF, leadership and community work. Combined with outstanding pastoral care, a strong House system and a culture built on courtesy, respect and kindness, boys develop confidence, resilience and character alongside excellent academic outcomes.

We would love to welcome you to Loughborough Grammar School to experience it for yourself. You can join us at one of our upcoming admissions events or arrange a private tour at a time that suits you. To find out more, please contact our admissions team at grammar.admissions@lsf.org or call 01509 233233.

Best of both worlds

An all-boys school on a co-educational campus

Our all-boys setting allows us to specialise in every aspect of education tailored to boys. From the classroom to the playing field, we understand how boys learn, grow and engage best. This specialist focus helps our pupils thrive, developing confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Our campus is alive with co-educational collaboration, particularly with our sister school, Loughborough High School. Highlights include Music, Drama, Sport, the Combined Cadet Force, A Level subjects, Sixth Form enrichment and a vibrant social calendar. These shared experiences promote mutual respect, broaden perspectives and help build lasting friendships.

A rich sporting culture

Sport is a central part of school life from Year 6 through to Year 13. Our Games Programme offers outstanding opportunities in four core sports: rugby, football, hockey and cricket, supported by specialist coaches who work closely with every pupil to help them reach, and often exceed, their potential. Along the way, boys build lasting friendships and develop values that stay with them for life.

Our staff bring exceptional experience, including current and former professional athletes competing nationally and internationally, giving pupils genuine insight and valuable sporting connections. Weekly training sessions cater to all age groups, while more advanced players are encouraged to support coaching younger teams, deepening their understanding of the game.

Beyond the core sports, pupils can access a broad programme including triathlon, badminton, athletics, swimming and basketball. Through our partnership with Loughborough University Tennis Academy (LUNTA), elite tennis players benefit from high-performance training alongside academic excellence, following in the footsteps of LUNTA alumni such as Henry Searle, 2023 winner of Wimbledon Boys Singles.

Our Student Athlete Programme further supports those competing at regional and national level, promoting long-term development, performance and wellbeing.
