invites current Year 5 boys considering entry into Year 6 or Year 7 to join us for an exciting experience at Loughborough Grammar School.

Our Taster Day programme is packed full of exciting activities; from learning a new language to meeting the exotic animals who live in our Biology Department and taking part in a range of sport, music and drama sessions, we encourage boys to immerse themselves in LGS life throughout the day. They’ll also have the opportunity to mix with our wider School community over a nutritious lunch, meet many of our inspiring specialist staff and experience our famous tuck shop! The day offers boys an opportunity to meet new friends and begin building positive relationships within the LGS community.
For pupils looking to join us in Year 6, the unique, friendly and supportive environment offers boys the perfect bridge from junior to senior school. The year group aims to ensure a smooth transition into senior school life by building familiarity with their new and exciting campus and school community. Pupils enjoy their own dedicated classroom area, but with the added benefit of lessons in Science, Music, Computing and Art being taught by specialist teachers in their respective departments. Throughout the year, there are opportunities for Year 6 pupils to mix with Year 7, helping them navigate the campus, form new friendships, and quickly feel like a valued part of our supportive community.
Similarly, Year 7 offers an action-packed, exciting start. Throughout the year, the boys will be challenged and engaged through a busy academic programme encompassing 15 subjects, many of which he will never have studied before, and a diverse range of co-curricular clubs, trips and adventures. From residentials aimed at building independence to exciting Rugby Tours and an engaging enrichment programme, Year 7 is a key stage in developing your son’s confidence and resilience. Boys quickly find their feet as they get to know their Form Tutor and are embedded into our rewarding House system, allowing them to embrace Grammar School life with confidence and enjoyment.
Running from 09:45-15:00, we hope prospective pupils leave the Taster Day with a real feel for the vibrant and supportive learning environment that Loughborough Grammar School offer and that they see LGS as a place where they’ll belong.
