Extended Project Qualification

What is the exam board and the route?
A Level Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) AQA
Subject outline
Independent research project on a subject of the student’s own choosing. The student proposes a topic and question, undertakes research and then produces a final written report (or artefact/item).
How is the course assessed?
No exam. There is a log book to complete throughout the project process, the outcome is a 5,000 word written essay/report and a presentation is required.
Why study this subject?
This is an option provided to enhance the package of A Levels undertaken by students at LGS. The opportunity for extended research is one greatly valued in educational development.
Complementary subjects
Students can choose the topic/subject for the research; therefore, the EPQ complements any subject.
We welcome the introduction of the Extended Project and would encourage you to undertake one as it will help you develop independent study and research skills and ease the transition from school/college to higher education.
