Subject outline
A Level Mathematics will allow boys to extend their range of mathematical skills and techniques. They can then use this knowledge to make logical and reasoned decisions in solving problems within pure maths and in a variety of contexts.
How is the course assessed?
Single Maths: Three 2-hour papers
Further Maths: Four 1.5-hour papers
Why study this subject?
A-level maths is often a prerequisite for many university courses, particularly those in science, engineering, economics, and business, it provides a solid foundation for further studies.
Taught by a very experienced team of subject specialists the boys will gain insight into the more advanced levels of mathematics, extending and deepening their knowledge of material covered at GCSE level. Further Mathematicians will initially study all the material covered at A level and then progress onto more advanced pure and mechanics topics.
