Inspired to achieve their very best, Music Scholars at Loughborough Schools Foundation have access to a wide range of support, performance opportunities, and expert guidance across the course of their music journey.
Our talented and ambitious Scholars follow a pathway that enables them to access opportunities they would not otherwise have. Available at 11+ (Year 7), 13+ (Year 9) and 16+ (Year 12), the scholarship provides pupils with individually tailored support with performance practice, additional performing opportunities, repertoire sessions, music theory and aural skills, unrivalled ensemble experience, and full access to the Enhanced Music Programme.
The scholarship has opened doors for new Music Scholar, Edward (Year 12) who said: “Music has always been a huge part of my life. I love how I can express myself in a way that words can’t. I look forward to meeting other Music Scholars, and to the amazing performances and events. Being a part of a string quartet is a particular highlight.”
With over 100 annual performance opportunities and more than 30 ensembles and choirs available for pupils to join, Music Scholars have countless opportunities to centre themselves at the very heart of the music school where they’ll meet other passionate musicians and continue to develop their skills.
Music Scholars are given the tools and confidence to excel, and recent Scholars have gone on to study Music at places such as the Royal Academy of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Birmingham and Leeds.
“A Music Scholarship is the perfect way to ensure that Music is at the heart of your journey, and that you are at the heart of the Music School. If Music is something that interests you then this is an essential element to your time at the Loughborough Schools Foundation.”
Nicky Bouckley, Director of Music
