Oxbridge offers received

Pupils prepare for Oxbridge and beyond

Following rigorous application and interview processes, we are delighted to share that a total of 11 students have received offers from Oxbridge, with 8 offers for Cambridge and a further 3 for Oxford.

Three offers have been received from the University of Oxford and eight from the University of Cambridge, spanning a broad range of courses including Medicine, Psychology and Linguistics, Biochemistry, Computer Science, History, Natural Sciences, Economics, Mathematics and Classics.

Students receive dedicated support from our Director of Future Pathways, as well as a wide range of subject specific guidance, to ensure that they have a clear understanding of the post-18 options open to them from the beginning of Year 12.

Futures thinking begins a long time before our pupils reach Year 12, however. Five of the students holding Oxbridge offers joined LGS from Fairfield Prep School, highlighting the passion for education that is instilled in our pupils from the very beginning of their journey within the Loughborough Schools Foundation.

We are proud to build further upon these Foundations by giving pupils access to specialist post-18 support and guidance. Our broad Personal Development Programme equips our pupils with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their next steps. The work undertaken both by our Director of Future Pathways and subject specialist staff is central to this strategy and encourages forward-thinking from Year 7 onwards. We also work in partnership with our network of alumni and external organisations to offer tailored opportunities to our more senior pupils that meet their individual needs as they begin to think in more detail about life beyond LGS.
