Why study this subject?

Classical Greek is a challenging subject, which can lead to a wide range of university courses, both in Classics and other disciplines. At its highest level you study a period of human history, as closely as possible integrating Language, Literature, Politics, Philosophy and the Arts. You will have an opportunity to develop further your love of Classical Greek through the reading of masterpieces of literature. You will further understand the literary context from which the texts have been taken as well as appreciate the social, cultural and historical contexts, their authors and audiences.
