Why study this subject?

Latin is a challenging subject, which can lead to a wide range of university courses, both in Classics and other disciplines. At its highest level you study a period of human history, as closely as possible integrating Language, Literature, Politics, Philosophy and the Arts. Students will have an opportunity to develop further their love of Latin through the reading of masterpieces of literature. They will further understand the literary context from which the texts have been taken as well as appreciate the social, cultural and historical contexts, their authors and audiences. Latin is co-taught with LHS.

Complementary subjects

Latin goes well with both Maths and Sciences and Humanities.
